Aircleaner:
I have the brace for the aircleaner, but my aircleaner got crushed during rebuild (lets just say when the engine started up grandad got in a hurry to pull the big old international tractor out of the way).... I knew it was gonna be about impossible to find a NOS or repo so went aftermarket "universal" (macs Air Cleaner - Chrome - 2-5/16" Throat - With Functional Louvers - MAC's Antique Auto Parts)... when that fell off for the 20th time and got lost on the freeway I decided to go to junkyard again (knowing that tiny small throat was gonna be impossible to find)... Let me know what you figure out, cause I'm without right now and my only other suggestion is to get a K&N and weld a ring around the bottom so it can be secured to the horn correctly with original clamp.
My thoughts on the Macs unit - it looks goofy, way too small, thought it would mount better than the K&N but I hated the mounting - I would advise against that one.
Junkyard... you will never find one with that small a throat unless you go to an antiques yard, an old school yard not a modern yard.
K&N - haven't tried it yet, but the part numbers I have for the "right" size (close)
RC-9220 (chrome) - 2 1/4 throat
RU-3560 - 2 1/4 throat
RC-70021 - 2 9/32 throat
RC-1624 - 2 3/8 throat
The 6 cyl isn't popular amongst restorers, so there are lots of em lying around here. The folks here are pretty reasonable on parts, so hit up a few who have responded and see how prices line up.
2 above guys who have whole motors: PM me an asking price please. I'm in Denver and have limited storage ability, but would possibly take one as a backup since parts are so hard to get if I can keep the cost low enough (mainly to get it out of your way).
Bill, the number I have in my original 1955 chassis parts catalog is 7HT 9600-B.
Also fits 1952 215.
If that's the case, then I have three air cleaners from a 215. However, from what I've seen, the design of the air cleaner for a 215 and a 226 are not the same.

Remember, service parts are not always the same as production parts. There is also another listing for a 52-55 215 air cleaner, and a separate one for the 50-53 254. Interestingly, both of the 254's I have (a 51 and a 52) had two totally different, original air cleaners. Undoubtedly they will very likely all physically interchange, since the later service part Bill referenced services all of these applications and more. Who knows what it looked like.
This has also been a frustrating issue for me - I'd like to get an *original* 226 oil bath air cleaner and bracket but I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for. Seems like there are lots of variants out there...
