Ken, my daughter was interested in it but didn't like the stack, lol. Sounds like she has a good job and must work at the headquarters building. I grew up near Ford & Telegraph.
its funny that euro regs are more strict, but they have better mpgs in their vehicles.
They also have a smaller gallon. But in general, the fuel economies are better due to several factors including lower emissions standards for diesel vehicles, smaller engines, and lower speed limits.
For instance: 30 English/European miles per gallon = 24.98 American miles per gallon
Side note: a crew cab diesel 5 spd Ranger would be awesome! Too bad you can only get them in South America and Europe.

Back when the English, Irish and Canadians used gallons, they had a LARGER gallon. 160 oz. So 30 Imperial MPG = 24 US MPG. But they've all converted to metric, and typically express fuel economy "upside down" compared to us, in fuel used over distance, in liters per 100 km. But all the unit analysis aside, Eurodiesels still get better economy than their US counterparts. Dunno why; maybe it's because there are so many more diesel vehicles there, and they've put more into the research. (One might also argue that their economies are less controlled by the oil industry.....)
