The white beast has failed us! We are hauling a horse from reno to texas . Going just fine for15 hrs. Then we lost power and it sounds lile it is hitting on 4 cylinders . We limped in to a rest area. We had code p 0236 but i think that is from the engine brake. I reset that then we had. Code1111 i could not find what that one is. We have oil. It is not. Cold enough to jell . We spent the night in the rest area. Now the truck wont start. We changed the cps no luck. Help please. What could this be? Thank so much. J
Is there any way to test that here with the truck not running? Any ideas why we have no codes when it is miss fireing this badly? Thanks! For the help!
Ok it seems that the passenger side is not fireing. I trued to start the engine. Then diconeted one side wireing At a time. When the passenger side was hooked up ther was no chnage. When it wAs the driver side. Nothing wAs even fireing at all. Now we are just waiting for a tow
If you were closer I'd drive out to help (not sure how much help I would be). Have you checked the basics? Do you have fuel in the fuel bowl? Is there water in the fuel? You might try to get some fresh diesel and drain and re-fill the bowl... Might have gotten a bad tank.
Ok well we got the truck towed to the dealer here in town found a super nice guy who picked up our horse trailer and brought our horse out to his place with corrals... So here is what the dealership thinks is wrong
They found the fuel filter was clogged... May be form bad fuel.. Which starved the passenger side. Injectors. So they said we have several bad injectors..
So I want to know why we were running along just fine the it cut out all at once.. Why did we not get a warning light before. Burned up injectors.
Why did this only seem to affect the one side? What could we have done to prevent this.. Te fuel filter was not all that old.
This is going to be spendy!
Thanks for al your help... I hope we can be back on the road soon...
This is a bummer.. I have never had a 7.3 let me down like this!
Have you visually inspected the wiring harnesses for burnt pins?? I'd be under that hood looking for sure before you let them replace injectors at their prices. You're gonna get bent over there. I'm betting its not the injectors. Wiring or IDM.
No codes from any injectors..No codes at all point to wiring imo.
I don't think you have burned up injectors. It's most likely the wiring under the valve covers. If you fuel filter was that bad it wod have felt like you were running out of fuel
I'm not there right not.. But over the phone they said that they were testing injectors and. Some were bad... I don't get it either..
I guess if they tested them they might be bad....? Maybe?
What a NIGHTMARE!!! The stealership sounds like they are doing what they do! I hope you can get some help from someone on this site. Good Luck Wish I could help.
Oh shoot,! The dealer shipt called , says it is the idm.. They can't get one. Till Tuesday.!! We rally need to get back on the road.. Any one have an idm they can get to winslow?
Horse board is $$$ by the day! Plus for us. We realy would love to get back on. The road tomorrow.. Any thoughts?
