93 7.3 had strange set of happenings. Tee plastic cover that protects the relay came off this caused throttle cable to ground the white wire on relay causing relay to engage and i guess burned out relay and glow plugs. With key on 12v on input side and11.6 on load side even with white wire disconnected. Any thoughts on how to determine extent of damage.. Thanks
I would replace the controller 1st. Beat I found was on ebay.You can test each glow in the motor to see if they burnt out. I would replace them anyway. Make sure and use the right ones.
Yes. I would check the temp sensor for the glow plugs. I would unplug it the glow plugs relay should not be letting power through. If is still letting power through bad relay stuck closed.
If it is just the relay, go to the parts store and get a relay for an 86 350 with a 6.9. In the case of the 7.3 they sell the relay with the controller for big money. the relay I suggested is the exact one you have so you can replace just the relay if you need to, its ALOT cheaper
