I don't think we know for sure. And I agree about it not causing the problems. I was just thinking if the filter looked that nasty, it would be a good idea to clean the screen before he comes back in a couple of weeks asking about a rough idle.
The photo posted looks alot like what our filter looked like.
I have a pic I will try to post when I get home.and have a real computer.
We were wondering if when the truck sat for 6 months the algae grea on the filter since algae loved having a textured medium to grow on... And since the fuel fitter is the water seperato, there might have been enough water in the bowl... Just a thought..
Any how the first tow days of filming the horse went well... We will be back on the road soon...now the truck just has to make it home!
We made the retune trio form texas! The truck purred the whole way. Probably over 35 hrs of driving with only 4 hrs off to sleep, pulling 5k of trailer wt.
We were running the used idm we picked up in winslow and it did the job. The we checked the fuel filter every fill up and it looked good and clear the whole way!
Now Im going to start looking for a spare idm to put in the tool box. I hope I can find one at the wreckers. For cheeper. Than the 500$ it costs for an oem one.
If any of you have spare idm you want to sell let me know!
I will let you all know when the tv show is going to be on.. And may be you all will get to see my truck and trailer on fox as we pull the horse to Clinton Anderson The horse trainer.
Glad you got home cowboy. Check ebay, I bought a remanufactured 120V from a super duty truck for a spare for 125 bucks. Just so you know, our stock one is 100V, so the 99-03 ones are an upgrade and usually the same cost.
I have an extra idm-100 that I bought for $90 when I was diagnosing a problem. Turned out my prob was my ipr not my idm. So I don't need this one. Call me 303-349-9913
