The point your making is that my PW is high (3.8 average with my foot on the floor) because the tune is asking for more fuel then my 130cc's can deliver? If the 130's can put out 130cc's of fuel at 2.6 or so then why am I seeing up to 4 PW? I will be the first to admit that this stuff is going right over my head!! Ever hear the saying that you can't teach a old dog new tricks? Is Tony still in business? I really don't want to pull my injectors but it seems to me that its the only way to figure this out. Didn't you run 1's with 2's tuning? Wouldn't this be about the same thing, the tune calling for more then the injectors can deliver? My T500 just arrived one hour ago, I'll see tomorrow what difference that is going to make. Thanks Travis for your patience!
I won't pretend to be some sort of genius, but basically yes.. Leaving the injectors open too long can cause excess smoke. Every tune I've ever had calls for slightly more pulse width than is actually needed to empty the injectors. According to the scan gauge anyways. I'm not sure why exactly we call for more than is actually needed, but I assume it has to do with mechanical delay and electrical delays.
Anyways, if your holding the injectors open longer than is needed to empty the injectors, it will smoke like crazy and actually use more HPO. Not sure if it's because it will keep injecting fuel after usable injection window or what, but that's what I'm assuming it is. If you inject fuel after the usable window, it will not be able to burn completely in the combustion process, causing excess smoke and no real extra power.
I ran my stage 2's with tuning for stage 1's that according to the scan gauge was calling for almost 7ms of pulse width in the hottest tune. It smoked like crazy that way. Now with proper tuning, I'm down to 3ms max in the hottest tune and it will smoke quite a bit in that tune before the turbo spools... At 3ms and no boost my truck will smoke quite a bit, but it's really easy to drive around that. Ease into the throttle is all it takes. All my other tunes are adjusted to keep smoke levels down, even if I don't ease into the throttle and I can floor it with those and it won't smoke, but the power doesn't come on as quickly either. I would guess that they can pull some pulse width out of your tow tune and keep some power in it.
I'm obviously just guessing. I'm no tuner... I'm still trying to wrap my head around just how much it could possibly be smoking with 130cc injectors when mine has a tough time smoking even a little bit in a tow tune. Your tuner will be able to make sense of the tune and tell you what they can do to try to fix your problem.
Thanks professor Tatsch! If your not a tuner, that makes me a little pawn in the big chess game.LOL I got the T500 in today and took it for a quick ride before going out to dinner. It will jump to 3200lbs in a flash where the adrenaline 'seemed' like it took longer. To soon to tell but Beans is suppose to be sending the new tunes soon. Travis, is Tony still in business?

Yeah, Tony is still going. Why wouldn't he be? I am actually going to be getting with him soon to get a chip for a friend of mines OBS.
I am actually starting to play with tuning on my gasser, but still have much to learn and dont have the smoke problem to worry about. Lol. I'm slowly getting those tunes refined.. Very slowly. Ha
