Just installed TS chip with PHP tunes

I just got this on the truck a couple days ago.
I was wondering what you guys thought of this chip?
I got it from Rosewood and it's to early to have a good opinion of the product. My truck had a chip prior to my ownership, so the install was easy. I've been told that the chip gives the most dramatic results as far as power. I don't know yet. I have stage II's and the exaust used to release tons of black smoke prechip.after installation, under stock mode, there's hardly any smoke. Is this cuz it was tuned for II's instead of stock? Also under the 100 and 140 HP, the truck runs slightly rougher at idle but screams at 2500 to 3000 RPM's. is this normal? Before the chip, I thought the truck was very powerful and after, more power but was expecting more (like I said haven't been able to open it up often yet).

What tunes did you have before? If you're wanting a better idea on comparisons, we need to know who's tuning the old chip had on it.

the old chip was before my time. I bought the truck without that chip, so I'm comparing stock Vs. chipped

If you don't see a big difference between stock and 140, then there's something wrong with your tunes. Either get a hold of Jim, or start a thread on the PHP forum. Something's not right here.

PHP chips dont smoke as much as DP and TW chips.

I have to try really hard to get any smoke from my chip, and its only in the 140 setting.

Mine smokes pretty decent in the 100 and 140 range. There is a big difference in stock and 140 in mine. It'll set u back pretty hard. I'm pretty much done "testing" it cause I don't want to wreck my tranny. Just towing with it.

Ya, with your stage II's and the chip you should see a huge difference between stock and 140.

Kawa, The PHP forum is on PHP's website. Go to their website and on the left hand side where all the tabs are, there should be one for a PHP forum where you can ask questions or post problems.

Do you have a upgraded HPOP? Your stock one might not be running the injectors very well, especially with Stage II's.

oil and fuel haven't been touched yet. the injectors are brand new.
tried it again today and it's powerful at 140 but stock is close.when in 140 the power doesen't feel any different in the lower RPM's before the turbo kicks.

So you have stage 2s and your saying there's no power difference between stock and 140? There's something horribly wrong bexuase with stage 2s and tunes should be a solid 150 horse power at the wheels and a Ton of smoke. I blew my friends mind when I showed him stock and the go fast setting andy fuel and hpop is very much stock. If you hpop was junk it would be a dog an buck at you

Jacob,
The way you've described it, your truck sounds normal to me. Bill's tunes do not bring tons of fuel in on the low end. It should drive like a chipped stock truck for the early part of the throttle. This makes for a much nicer daily driver, lower EGT's, not much smoke, less stress on the trubo, etc. But as soon as you get on the throttle it should come up quick and hard with Stage-2. He does a great job of making as much power as the other tuners with a lot less smoke, so comparing smoke before and after will be tough.

Bill's tunes are not drag racing tunes. If you want them (or one, or whatever) to come in hard with lots of fuel as soon as you hit the throttle you'll need to consult him about a custom tune for you because he doesn't tune that way. I'd be happy to reburn your chip with these custom tunes for free if you get something worked out with Bill (he can email me the tunes).
