i had some custom made fiberglass panels molded in the rear cargo doors. they fit the squared kicker subs 10inch. no rattles or looseness. they installer used the stock mounting pegs. they were sturdy and produced amazing bass. it also helped that my rear doors were dynamatted. so it provided enough heft to the doors that it didnt rattle when playing in high volumes. total cost including labor+subs was $700.
i since sold the setup ($125 on Cl to another EX owner) because i went with 2 Rockford Fosgate P2 15inch in a big box behind the 3rd row seat.
the panels are a bit dirty because i was in the process of removing them. (my greasy hands from servicing my rear diff)actually had a hard time because they were mounted in soo good lol..
you can see a tear/hole i made when i was carrying some copper piping for our bathroom plumbing in the rear and it dug into the panel
12" shallow mount rockford p12. I just cut the plastic with a jigsaw. After that I cut a 1/2" pine wood doughnut matching the diameter of the mounting holes. Put it behind the plastic and drove the screws into the wood. Siliconed around wood and plastic on the back.
