I am going to install my new subwoofer this weekend, I got a slim all in one until, I am not expecting anything earth pounding, I just want a fuller low end and this thing has great reviews so though I would give it a try.
I am going to try to fit it under my passenger side seat, it wont fit with the manual slide adjuster in place, so I will have to remove that bar, then it should fit, if not I will put it behind the seat.
My question is, is there a preferred route to run the amp wire?, to get it though the firewall? Usually I just stare at it until something comes to mind, but the weather for this weekend calls for rain so the less time I have to spend on the outside of the truck the better haha!
In my '99, there is a section of single wall steel floor on the passenger side. A lot of the floor is double wall, making it a bit of a PITA. But behind the kickpanel, there is a section where the lower steel panel is cut away. Crawl under the truck and look up, you will see what I mean (assuming your truck is similar). Second benefit is that the wire is totally protected and concealed behind the kick panel. Don't forget SERIOUS abrasion protection and a fuse on the battery side!
I pulled my 8 Ga power wire through the same grommet as the fuse panel power lead. Fished it through with a wire and some dielectric grease to make it slip through easier.
