sub ideas?

I have a 15" kicker and the only place it will fit in my 1993 ford f150 ext cab is on the seat in the back, right now i have it behind the passengers seat and the amp under the seat. I need to somehow make the sub to where it does not slide around. (Holding it in place) My old sub in my old truck would do that when taking corners or muddin, so I need to somehow figure out a way to mount it on the seat. I thought about a bungie cord, but I hate that idea. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Tyler.

Most any hardware store will have 1" aluminum strips, you can bend it light tools or even by hand and it's fairly easy to drill. I would do a simple "L" bracket. The short side to the seat bracket or another factory bolt on the floor. Then a couple of screws into the side or back of the box.

You could also make straps out of that strip to go over the back seat.

Okay thank you, I like that idea! With my amp, I have seen some people just mount it on there sub. Right now it is under neath the rear seat, but it could slide a lot down there. So I would need to get a longer wire that runs from my amp to my head unit (My friend gave me all these wires so idk what wire it would be, what wire would it be?) Then I could mount it on my sub. I can not really think of any good places to actually mount it. I like the idea of it underneath the rear seat, but I can not find a place or way to mount it there.

You have a few options. You can mount the amp to a sheet of plywood and use hardware strap to secure the board to a factory bolt. I've also pulled the seat and ran self tapping screws into the floor.

To move the amp up to the sub, your going to add a short length to your power/ground wire. Without knowing the draw on your amp, it's hard to say what size wire to run. You might also have to use longer RCAs and put an extension on the remote wire. The remote is a small wire say 18-16ga. Power and ground should be the same size, and 8ga being the smallest.

So is it really personal prefference or would one or the other be better? My RCA and ground wire is the same right now. I am almost positive that it is 8 gauge. Would I be better off with something bigger like 4 or 6 gauge? I believe the remote wire is what I was talking about. It is a very small wire. I have about 10 feet of 16 ga wire left. Maybe more, I am not sure. What does the remote wire run to?

Thank you for all your help bud, I really appriceate it! Sorry to me being so oblivous when it comes to this.

The location is mostly personal preference however there are some points to consider. The amp needs air around it to help keep it cool, if it's sealed up or has no air flow, the ambient air will warm and so will the amp.

The RCAs are the gold or silver connectors that carry the music and are usually bound in pairs with red and white denoting left and right. These can be pretty small as they carry low voltage and amperage. The power wires however need to be of decent size because they carry the amperage and voltage (wattage) to power the amp. The bigger the amp, the bigger the wire needs to be. Then there is also length that figures into the size of the wire. If you would post your amps wattage and how long the wire will be, we can estimate the wire size you need.

Remote wire turns the amp on/off. It has 12v but low amperage because it's just a trigger wire.
