Ford probably has one. They arent completely necessary , but , they sure make the new seal job tighter. You can get one later and install it too. It's nothing that cant be done after the fact. They get a little wear in them and cause the pipe to not seal up as well as it should. If you look at it when its off the clamp has a little valley all the way around in where the exhaust side of the turbo case joins the flare on the DP. They stretch and wear over time and its just best to get a new one when doing a swap. I have had them just start leaking over time also and it will stink the cab up and make you think its trying to asfixiate you. Just be sure everything matches really well up there before tightening the clamp and joining them in holy matrimony.

Thanks for the heads up and advice. Reps to come once I'm back on a computer. The DP install was the least of my worries going into this
I wish I knew more about the HPOP swap. I know there is a fitting that needs to be sealed really well. Loctite makes a product that boilermaker, steamfitters and hydraulic people use frequently that is reall good stuff. I want to say its 545 , but , dont quote me on that.
Another thing I just thought of when doing the exhaust work. I say weld it instead of clamping it. I bought a kit that clamped together. I have like 5 "U" clamps under this thing and I hit my head on them frequently. It really pisses me off too.

I plan on welding everything. Only bolts will be DP to cat delete pipe

Are you going with like a 4" straight pipe? I would get rid of all that cat muffler resonater crap. The cats make the 7.3's stink like ***. I love the way mine sounds w/o that junk. You can hear that turbo whistle and it has a deep throaty real torquey sound to it. Sounds like raw uncut diesel power!
The thing I'm not understanding is I know its a tight squeez for the 3inch is installing it justpusing the firewall in a little. Could I use like a hydrolic bottle jack?

Straight pipe for the win! 3" DP to 3.5" cat delete to 3.5"/4" adapter to 4" mandrel bend 45 to 4" straight exiting right in front of the rear passenger tire. May add a rain cap later just cause I've always liked em

I hope you dont plan on 'rollin coal' much cuz then you gotta clean soot off your rear passenger side and bumper.
I just stuck mine out behind the rear passenger tire.
Sounds like fun this weekend!
Once my T-500 gets back to me... ill have something to do.
