Hey guys...needing advise. I had to put a new brake m/c on my 64 F100 (nicknamed White Trash),,,I bench bled a new, reman master cylinder, but only got 6-8 bubbles. After I installed it, I should have continued to pump the pedal, but installed the lines and switch. I have no pressure and no fluid out of the only bleeder I was able to crack open. I'm, thinking the mc plunger is not operating after the reman, anybody else ever have this problem?
I don't even know how to bench bleed, but if you do the old one person press the brake while the other person opens/closes the valve on the wheel cylinders that should work.
When i bench bleed a master cylinder, i use a #3 phillips and depress the piston about an inch or so in a rapid motion. It usually takes a good 5 minutes to get all the air out. You might want to bench bleed it again.
Spray some PB Blaster on the bleeders and let it set'' you need to be able to bleed all 4
wheels!, was this truck sitting up for a long time? could be the wheel cylinders froze up?
I agree with huckdeuceman & Bill W, You need to be able to bleed at all four corners. I just installed a new dual chamber master cylinder on my truck an it took a lot of pumps to bench bleed. I use my finger to plug the outlet on the up stroke so as to not suck air back into the port.
