Hi ive been reading on here that there are several differnt brake boosters and pedals, what i am looking for is, a booster with a longer pedal rod. what i have is a 79 F250 4X4 w/o cruise control booster. the truck was a automatic and im converting it to a manual. the pedals that i installed, are a unknown year. The only thing stopping me from hooking it up is the booster pedal rod. I am going to need a booster with a longer rod. any help on what year of truck to use would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
Alan
I'll do my best to help. I did this on my 77 about two years ago I can't remember exactly how it worked so bear with me. I think I used the automatic bracket with the manual pedals or vice versa. But I know that the brake pedal rides on the same shaft as the clutch pedal now and I didn't have to make any adjustments to the brake booster or rod.
I also forgot to add this is my converted truck that I'm using a dodge hydraulic master cylinder. So this may be of no help.
yes i found out that the 78 79 booster/pedals were 2 inchs shorter 73-77 booster im told will work with my pedals will find out tomarrow this is a 5.9 conversion truck that im using 96 z-f 5sp and master cyl with the old pedals that part is working great now get booster hooked up and be golden thanks for all the help guys
