Regarding moving to TDC for glow plugs:
When I did mine, I didn't know what brand of GPs were in it, and was worried... I decided to start changing them, and if I ran into one that started to bind up during removal, I'd then move that piston to TDC. I got lucky, as all the GPs were Motorcraft, and came out with no problems.

Ok
Got the first glow plug out before it got dark
its a champion.
any tips for getting the connectors off? The first one was tough an I used channel locks.
any tips would be great.

All done
Glow plugs and return lines.
Now I can't start the truck because the batteries are dead.
I did too much cranking trying to start it before I replaced everything.
The plugs came out OK, they were Champion.
Thank for all the help guys!

If you have any tips/tricks from these jobs you could share, please do. I'm about to replace glow plugs and the return lines on mine soon, and it will be my first time doing this job. I'm a bit nervous.
