Took me a long time to learn that when you don't know what you are doing that it is best to ask somebody that does know what they are doing. The really hard part was learning to SHUT UP and LISTEN to what they'd tell me. Turns out to usually be a good method for learning.
Here's the part I didn't expect. Pulled the schematics, found the right grn/rd wire and made the right connections (finally). That didn't fix it all.
Here's the 2nd idiot mistake I made. My truck has a non-standard alternator bracket. It is from MAPCO made to also hold an A/C compressor. Because of that, I can't use a standard lengh V-belt, it needs to be longer (45").
I installed a 45" belt that was .65" wide. WRONG!. The belt should be .5" wide. The belt had eaten itself into the .5" pulley but that left a lip .15" wide on the the outer edge. THAT .15" EDGE KEPT THE BELT FROM SEATING. It was slipping like crazy and I didn't know it.

I know you cant really see the colors but is the wire on the right the red/green wire that i need to tie into? It doesnt seem like it connects to the solenoid but its the only red/grn wire that was disconnected from the old wiring. Thanks for the help
