What if anything can be done to equip a 49 Merc with door lock or locks

Should be a lock on the passenger door?? Never was one on the driver side door. A safety system from Henry Ford so that you exited at the curb and not into traffic. Another part along with the mercury name plate that you will need to find. I'll check my spares but don't htink I have one. Greg M-47
