Good Morning Nor cal FTE! Nothing like being awaken needlessly at 6am by a irate smoke detector! Snap the battery out and it is as quiet as a church mouse. (No, there was no fire.) Going to have to buy some batteries this payday as I don't like having disabled smoke detectors.

Good Morning NorCal, & Hank, & Gig,
Glad to hear there's some rain a'coming...Boy do we need it.
Hank, I have all kinds of braces, knee things, elbow things, ankle things, etc.
The tennis courts here in the desert are all basically concrete. They have the pretty colors thing going on, but underneath, they're as hard as a rock. I usually spend from 4 to 8 hours a day, 4 - 6 days a week on the court, on my feet. Pretty tough on the old knees. At least I get to play against other 'old' guys. What's with your knees?

Have a great day

I am a flooring contractor for 32 years now so Ive had plenty of abuse. For work I use Proknee kneepads and they are great but not cheap, although they are super. At least I`m semi retired so I`m not working like I used to.
That concrete on courts can be quite jarring for sure. Probaly kill me.

At least I don't have to spend the day fixing broken pipes like I did the last two days. We got down to about 21º here and the pipes just didn't like it. Last night it only dropped to 33º so was a lot easier on the plumbing. Two nights ago I had the fire going all night and the house still 40º inside when we got up.

Today I have to drive up to Pollock Pines to do an estimate. I hate these big long-distance jobs...all my profit gets eaten up in gas!

Wow! a post from the Tiger himself! glad to see you are still alive and kicking! You should get one of those economy vehicles you have in your yard running, so you can make a long distance trip with less gas used. Of course, they might not be able to hold all your tools.

I've been driving the Taurus a lot...27 mpg vs. 16 on the Rover, and I can get most of the tools I need in the trunk, except my table saw. Might be able to stuff that in he back seat though, haven't tried it yet.

Wound up not going to Pollock Pines today, the gal I need to see is sick so we postponed till next week. So it's back down to the storage unit I'm borrowing to finish installing the engine in the Range Rover I'm working on.

Update on the day...

I never did have the chance to go back to bed & start the day over. I've been running all over the place - kids schools, bank, stores, paying bills - you get the idea.
Atleast 2 of the 4 things (so far) that started my day off bad, have changed.
My son is at school & I don't have to deal with his attitude & 2nd...his headache went away after I took him aspirin (which I told him to take prior to leaving for school this morning) The other 2?...one I can't change. Stepping in cat poop first thing this morning, & the other one I'm still waiting to hear the outcome of my new granddaughters abdominal ultrasound. Depending on the results is whether she goes in for surgery or not! If no surgery is required, then they'll probably have to run more tests to figure out why she keeps gagging, throwing up & pressure puking.
