Another rider, I don't like riding alone just in case......
I do most of my riding alone. But I like that because I can go as fast or slow or stop when I want. If the trail sucks I'll just hammer through and not listen to complaints. I did ride with s group of four other guys that was fun. Those boys hammer
I am with Tom on this one. I like to ride with at least one more person just in case something happens. More than 4 gets to be a hassle sometimes though. Too many stops and indecision usually.
I agree with Jay, you never know what might happen, track locks and throws you over the bars, you hit a sideways bump that you don't see, your pulling a ski stand and your feet slip, you hit a deer, the list is endless. I also agree that with many riders you stop way to much. I like to cruise, not at 90 not at 20, just at a safe pace and you can still put 150 or more miles on in a day.

I probably should but I typically take a Thursday or Friday to go and hard to find someone that likes to ride like I do. If I could go with that group again I like that
