Ok, so when did you say you were headed out to beautiful California?

Edit - Read the original post wrong.

You did the right thing. In today's world so many people turn away and don't want to get involved.

I think you misread his post brother, it was his stuff that was getting stolen.

I don't think any person in this world would turn away and not get involved when someone is stealing from them.

Just my two cents.

I hate to say it, but you're right. Before this, the wife would never allow it, but I think she may change her mind from now on. That is if I get the stuff out of the house ASAP.

Yes you are correct, thanks! I thought it was a neighbors trailer. In that case he definitely did the right thing, especially since he avoided a violent outcome.

Sorry for the troubles Bion...

It seems too random of a thing...I'm betting you may find this guy is a buddy of the delivery guy truck driver or something...or perhaps he works in the UPS/FedEx/Other warehouse that the stuff went thru or something and he "noted" the address...the really really odd part about this though is how did he know the stuff was outside and accessible?...that's the part that is really odd...

It may be we're over thinking this too (very likely)...the guy just happened to see you unpacking the trailer and putting the stuff under the tarp and decided to take something that was "easy" to grab not even knowing what was inside...???...

Sorry again for your misfortune my friend...

Indiana issues CCW's...I've had one for years...recently they offered a "lifetime" CCW...it costs a little more than your typical 4 or 5 yr one...but as long as you remain a "proper citizen"...i.e. not a felon...your CCW is good for life...and it is valid in many other states too!

I'm thinking that may very well be the case, too.

If it had been me, it would have been the thief (if he had gotten away) that would have avoided a violent outcome. But that's the old cop coming out in me.

A little old school "three from the ring, five from the sky" would have solved the problem for me.

I've thought about the scenario of what would happen if I caught someone trying to steal my stuff. Lets just say I hope I don't catch the guy.

Sorry to hear about the loss. Make sure you follow through with the prosecuter, ask for restitution ordered by the judge. If the judge orders it will become a civil liability. He won't be able to clear probation until he pays you back for the loss, let him enjoy that "BROKEN COOLER" and you get a new one. Goin' thru this with a punk that took about $8000 out of my house in jewelry and firearms. Every paycheck he gets he pays me a portion of it, 3 years and he still owes me over $6000.

What did the little ******* do with the jewelry and guns?

My biggest fear is theft of one or more of my firearms...
