If anyone made 1971/73 Mustangs, it would have been AMT, who also made all of FoMoCo's dealer promo models beginning in 1947.
The promos were also given to FoMoCo Dealers as sales awards. Were gold plated, installed in shadow boxes. McCloed Ford in Riverdale CA had dozens of these on their showroom walls, wouldn't sell any of them.
The dealer is now closed, dunno what happened to the awards.
Longo Toyota in El Monte has all sorts of diecast models on display in their parts dept. I bought a 1/24 scale 1968 Shelby GT500 there several years ago.
Another place to try is Hobby City, located in Orange County.
There are model shows, George Zaninovich has put on a model show here in LA LA Land since the 1970's. It's set up just like a car swap meet, all sorts of models are available.
You can also try toy stores that have been in business for a long time. But, there aren't too many here in LA LA Land or in the Central Valley that will have much of anything, cuz I cleaned most of them out in the 1980's.
btw: Have you visited Early Ford Store? There are a few models there along with NOS, repro and piles of used Ford parts, it's also a museum of everything Ford.
Located in the original 1916 Ford Dealership, in old town...San Dimas...just east of the feed store, west of the RR tracks.
Hadn't even thought of the Early Ford Store. I do know where its at, just have to find the time to get there since I'm currently working in Orange County. Thanks for the help guys.
MY 73 F250 runs. YES THANK YOU JESUS SHE RUNS. That poor thing was sitting around for 2 months before I got her heads. Than she had a knock (which was a rivet that was in the cylinder). Than she waited 2 more months before I go around to fixing it since I thought it was a rod knock.
Well for the first time in 4 months she started and ran. And for the first time in god knows how long she ran without a missfire.
Still working out some kinks. Shes got a little oil in the antifreeze but I think it was from changing the heads. I drowned the cylinders in oil to keep it from rusting. Ill flush it and see what happens. I do remember dumping quite a bit of oil into the antifreeze jacket though
Shes really weak coming off idle. The carb is brand new rebuilt I think she needs bigger accelerator jet. Her gas is god only knows how old.
But!!!
She runs, she has a rebuilt transmission apparently, she has a shift kit I never knew about. She has a transmission cooler oil pan.
Still a billion things to do. Redo all the suspension, grease everything. Run transmission cooler lines for the transmission. Get a new transmission oil cooler. Drive it a whole bunch.
Anyway... if you need heads but on a 429 or 460 I'll do it. I have experience now! (Much heavy heads than aluminum 302s HA)
3,379.8 miles until 100k......so excited, it'll take me a few months but I'm already doing lots of hw on mods and "preventative" maintenance that I am looking into doing.

I've got a lil over 6k until I hit 200k on my rig.
Called up Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair yesterday and they didn't have them. I found the two on ebay so I'm watching them. Probably going to end up spending more money than I should, but oh well....can't take it with you when you go.
