Exclamation Fuel Pressure Readings

I bought the Blue Spring and cover before I got gauges.

After gauges I'm seeing 65-69 psi all the time. Oasis says truck was in for something minor in 2006 and never since. What are chances prior owner did the upgrade?

I'm going to change oil and fuel filters tonight (fuel hasn't been changed since I bought )

Just wondering if perhaps a dirty filter could cause this? I've seen a few posts regarding that. Would be annoyed to have spent $54 (or was it $64?) on the new spring/cover if it's already installed...but happy as well if ya know what I mean

65 to 69 PSI is well within the specified range. What is the problem?

Problem is that I haven't installed the blue spring yet. My understanding is the factory spring is in the 50's for psi

So I'm wondering if prior owner did the blue spring, or if I've got a clogged filter

Guess I'll find out tonight when I change the filter

Clogged filter would lower pressure, not raise it.

You will probably find either the blue spring or a BB when you open your regulator.

A bb?

It does seem counter-intuitive, but several guys with clogged filters have posted saying their pressures were really high

Yes, a bb. Guys used to use a bb to shim their original springs, has the same effect as installing the new blue spring.

okay, changed my filters out on Friday. God, what a PITA that was. The motor filter was a joke. The one tucked behind the front driveshaft, hidden inside the frame rail and surrounded by fuel lines....what fun!

what size is that socket? I'm going to purchase one tonight for next time. I spent a good 2 hours getting that cap on/off. Should have just gone and bought a socket, but I'm stubborn.

btw, my fuel pressures are the same. The primary filter wasn't terribly dirty, just lots of stuff that looked like sand on it.

This socket is available in a lot of places, including Amazon. It's short and 3/8's drive. With a couple extensions it gets in there pretty good.
