Is there an easy way to upload pics directly from an Iphone? I'm a supporter so I can post pics directly into a thread, but I can't figure how to do it from my Iphone.
If you want to post a picture in a forum thread, the image has to first be uploaded to an album (or some other place on the web such as photobucket). You can plug in your iphone in to your computer and use it like any other USB device (memory stick or external drive).
I did find out recently, that my new iphone 4s has a great camera with a flash....& it's an 8 megapixel camera. That means that to place the photos in an FTE album, you'll need to use a photo program & save your pictures off at a smaller size. The albums on FTE have a maximum picture size of 1024 x 768.
I'm not sure if I answered that....I haven't been using the FTE mobile app, so maybe there is a direct link there.

If you use a Mac, download to iphoto, go to file and click export. There you can change the size of your picture (small or medium) and save to the desktop.

there is no direct mobile pic support. FTE is way behind on the Social media impact on our way of life. Even my wife can post pics from her phone to facebook. everything should be that easy.

I don't know of a direct link from the iPhone as even the non-HDR pictures are way too big. But if you are using a Mac it is definitely easier. Just plug in your iPhone as was suggested. The "Image capture" app should pop up but if it doesn't you will find it in your main applications directory. Download the files to your desktop or a directory that you use for the pictures of your truck. Then open them in the Preview app. Under the tools menu tab you will find "change image size". I usually set the new size at 800x600 @ 96 dpi. You can then save it as a new name (I usually just add "-w after the name but before the .jpg).
Both these apps come with the Mac OS X operating system. You can then upload the -w pix into you message (use the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the screen) by clicking on the attach paper clip icon on the advanced edit menu. Note that the attachments won't show up until you "Preview Post" or "Submit Reply".
If you need more detailed help let me know and I'll add some screen shots.
If you are using a PC with Bill Gates "experimental software" I can't help you much. I stop frustrating myself 8 years ago and moved to a Mac.
On the flipside, I've found that emailing photos from my computer into a yahoo email account, then opening the email on my iphone, and saving the image, is the best way to upload pics onto my iphone. The other way, as what is asked here, is to do the opposite, or onto photobucket, then upload the pic from the computer.... not much good if you are not at home or by a computer. But Sam is right, that there is no direct way that I know of.

Howdy
An easy way to post pictures is using a hosting site such as Photobucket.
simply upload the photo directly to photobucket using their free app.
then go to your photobucket app and copy the link for your photo and paste it onto your message
voila!
I am using a Droid with the free FTE mobile app but it should work the same with the iPhone FTE app (if there is one).
you will need to learn how to copy and paste between browser windows though using the absolutely crummy (but getting better) Safari browser.....
regards
Rick
By the way,
Once you learn to upload to your hosting site using your "smart" phone, you can copy-paste that photo link to ANY site, email or message etc.......multiple times....
Looks like I'll have to look at photobucket. I notice that everyone seems to use it, except me! What I was hoping for was an app, like the HAMB has, which allows you to post everything right from the Iphone with out using your home computer. FTE has a mobile version that is easier to use on an iphone than the home version, but it's pretty limited. Hopefully, FTE will offer an app in the near future, even if we have to pay a buck or two for it.
Guys, thanks for all the responses. -Rusty
I think I probably mis-characterized the mobile VERSION of this site as an "app". It's just the version that display's better on a mobile "device". - Rick
Yes I was using it and it is faster on an iPhone but somehow I turned it off. Does anyone know how do I turn it back on again?
