front end lowering

i just took a few leafs out of the front end of my 55 f100 what is the best way to shorten the bolt that goes thru the springs so i can get everything buttoned up again in the front. i figure i can grind a bit out of the bump stop that the you bolts hold down so it will fit over it again like it should. all help is apreciated thanks all

I wouldn't bother with shortening the bolt. I've just used a shorter grade 8 bolt for such applications. You can easily round off the bolt head on a grinder....

I just replaced mine with the grade 8's and rounded the heads off on the grinder. Worked great for me.
