Well my Ex got broken into week of Christmas! They busted out my passanger window in driveway and took my radio and ipod. Just got it back and Insurance company would only put a factory radio back in do to not having a receipt on radio. PO replaced the factory with aftermarket. Well the radio that was installed by the insurance company is no the correct radio for my truck. I have the single disk with tape deck in the middle and now my Factory rear dvd will not play thru the speakers or headphones. I am looking for the 6 disk factory radio in good shape that will allow me to use rear dvd again. Let me know what you have and how much. Thanks guys

Sorry to hear you had a break-in. Mt X was broken into while we at church Xmas Eve, same thing they broke the passenger window. We keep nothing in the truck and the radio was factory so nothing to steal but there was a mess. I will be replacing the dark tint on the two front windows. The PO had a blackout tint- now anyone can see inside a tell there is nothing to steal.
Sorry to hear about the jerks that messed up your Ex's. I agree with keeping the tint light enough so the idiot sees there is nothing worth getting inside for. Idiots will break a $250 window to get a GPS worth $40 on the street. Sheesh!
fgials, I would insist the Insurance pays to have a CORRECT radio that works with your other FACTORY equipment. It's on them to pay to get it back to factory, unless you have a receipt, as you stated. But to replace it with something not stock, that will not operate your other factory options, is not acceptable! Don't let them jerk you around!
Yeah, I'd contact your insurance and tell them they can have the factory radio back and that you want the correct radio for your truck. If they can't, there are 2 wires you can wire together to get the DVD to work again, though I doubt the rest of the features of the dvd (like playing through the speakers and the av input) will work correctly. The irony in this is that the factory radios probably go for more than it would cost just to replace the aftermarket one with a new one!!

Thanks

If OEM was a 6 disk, don't they HAVE to replace it with OEM? I'd call the local TV "investigative journalists" and have them "help" by calling the insurance company.
I have been round and round with them to get where i am at this point. I just want to get it back in correct myself. Thanks
Not saying don't do it yourself, but make sure the local news outlets know so maybe one will post a negative story on it...who knows, maybe they'll come round and make it right vs. the negative publicity.
file a complaint with the better business bureau AND your state's attorney general's office. notify your claims person in writing that they have provided you with the incorrect radio and that you are demanding they provide you with the correct radio or you will replace it at a local dealership on your own and demand the amount from them. Mention you do not want to have to involve an attorney but have consulted with one and will retain him if necessary. I'd also mention you will be seeking the decreased value of your vehicle due to not having the correct stereo installed, not having the rear dvd work, etc. I'd point out that it was a several thousand dollar option and thus has substantially decreased the value of your truck now that it isn't functioning.
Every state has an agency that regulates the insurance companies that do business in their state. You find the agency, file a complaint, and they will jump on doing the right thing overnight so their privilege to operate in the state is not revoked by the state.
Don't let an insurance company push you around. I had to file a complaint because the insurance company would not pay me my mother's life insurance. As soon I filed the complaint, and the State of Virginia put them on notice, the check in full was in the mail immediately.
Didn't the factory radio use a seperate RF box to send the radio frequency to the radio in order to play the DVD sound? That's what I found when u pulled out my stock radio.
If they give you a hard time about what was stock, tell them to go to the Ford dealer and get an OASIS report. That shows the exact radio that came with it from factory, whether the six or the single with the tape deck. Hard for them to deny that.
I'm sure very few people want the tape deck radios now, so I'd bet it was a major cost savings for them.
Sorry your truck got broken into. I have this 6disk from my 2005 F350. Not sure it will fit the X, but you can have it if you pay shipping and it fits your application.
