I have a 89 bronco2. The tag is off the door post. would like to know the type of rear axle. The tag on the rear axle has 6070 on top of the tag an 10A756MO1 under it
6070 is the axle model number
10 is the gear ratio (I'm guessing there's a 4 missing probably 4.10 gears. L10 would indicate a limited slip so it's probably an open diff. check the gear ratio by spinning the tire by hand one turn and counting rotations on the driveline)
A75 indicates 7.5 inch ring gear
6MO1 is a production sequence code I think.
Limited slip differential has clutches in it that (usually) prevent one wheel from spinning while the other doesn't pull. Under certain conditions it fails to do so, but it improves traction by forcing both wheels to spin. The clutches wear out with time (I've heard they're usually good for about 30K miles), so there probably gone on your BII, so it's just like having an open differential until you can get in and replace those clutch packs.
