P1116 code

P1116 code
I have a 2009 ranger 4.0l 4x4 i changed the oil tonight and did a KOER test with my own computer and it gave me a p1116 code but i have never had a check engine light, if i did not hook the computer up for the hell of it i wouldnt even know i had it, its about to break 30,000 miles is this normal? signed confused

It is showing a temperature sensor fault. Most times it will have to trip the code a couple of times to to set the CEL on. You probably caught it early enough before it had a chance to trip the light. I wouldn't be to worried about the light but I would get the sensor problem fixed. With 30,000 miles it still has some warrenty left so get in touch with your dealership and let Ford fix it for free.
