told him my driving style, mods, tire size, gears and he came up with what i wanted which was the most aggressive tune possible. these are NOT canned tunes they are made for each person based on there needs and wants and truck. no chip its a programmer that hooks to the OBD2 port for programming.
now he has done enough live dyno tuning on these trucks to know what a/f ratio to go with..ect so IMO for a mostly stock truck there's no reason to live tune it when hes got it down to a science. now if its highly moded super or turbo charged then of course.
Not at all suggesting the tunes aren't worth it, just wondering if the SCT had the ability to 'record' say, pulling your trailer up a hill or record your 1/4 mile, then he analyzed it and adjusted. Like I said, so many people sing the praises, whatever he comes up with MUST be working.

I answered your question earlier.
Yes
Data logs using the tuner which they can review and tweak. Very common in the Mustang world...especially those with wild builds. Tuner will provide a basic "get it running" tune. They'll data log, get tweaks and do some more Data logging.
Nothing will beat a Dyno tune, but they can get close
