The guages look Great, mine is currently a POS so this gives me a good idea thanks. Good catch on the Amstel light too, I would have used Makers Mark and had my guages all out of line :-)
After what I went through to do mine, I think that is totally worth it! Nice find. You can even get the bezel with no gauges for 160 bucs! That would be cool if they would sell one without the holes cut in it. I think the holes are a little too close to one another for my taste. I'm not really big on the brand gauges they sell with it either. But hey; that looks like a nice package!
So I would look into some VDO or Omega Kustom gauges and one of those bezels; I think that could turn out nice!. Looks like you could get away with about $600 out of pocket that way. I like the black one myself....
Yeah i figure buying the dash and then the gauges slowly, it would be more in the budget for most of us. I know i cant afford 1200 out of pocket right now, but i can sure do that over a few months time and put one together slowly. I think if you just make contact with them you could get one that doesnt have the holes cut out, or tell them what you want, im sure they could manufacture one for you. hell the worst they could say is no...
I love the LED's but you are right; they are bright. It doesn't bother me that much though. Next time I might go down a size. I do not think LED's are dimmable by reducing voltage. Normally they require a certain voltage to either be on or off. Once you drop the voltage to the lower limit it just turns off. I might be wrong so if you try it and it works; let me know please.
Just browsing through and caught this, in multiple labs for mechanical engineering we had to fiqure out how to dim leds using a breadboard and then program them to flash a certain sequence. Well the dimming part is easy i found this on ehow to maybe help. How to Dim an LED Light | eHow.com
That's a lot of money for ABS plastic. I bought an f600 unit off of Craigslist for $60. It was 500 miles away and cost $10 to ship. Excellent condition, pigtail attached. They are out there, you just have to look.
Yeah, the f600 bezel is nice and cost effective, but not every one wants that layout. And filling those holes with aftermarket gauges might limit you. Three big gauges would be cool but challenging. I am going to buy one just to have one though.
At least you have an original steering wheel. I have a green metalflake job with no provision for a horn button. If I can't find an original guess I'll have to get a Grant.

I didn't know it was original. I just bought the truck and I know very little about trucks. I just think it looks cool and sounds bad ***. Does anyone out there have a link that will teach a noob how to trouble shoot the horn? Mine does not work. Thanks

Push on the horn in truck and rotate the bezel (can't remeber which way) its most likely one of your contacts is messed up in there. I replaced the spring in there with one from a pen and mine started working. Other than that you have a fuse I believe under the dash, and then a relay out in the engine compartment. Both of my horns ended up being shot so I replaced one with a cheapie from autozone.

I would like to replace mine with one of those air horns semis use. Not that I have the slightest idea how to do that. I just want my horn to have the ***** to match the engine sound.
