I've got an 03 6.0 in my cc long bed dually and I need to put a set of injectors in it. I just want to put stock size back in were is a good place to get them?
I just purchased 8 injectors from these guys, and one of them has stiction so bad it won't even fire until the oil temp hits 140-150 degrees. I've driven it for a few weeks hoping it would loosen up, but it hasn't. Their website says they flow them all and test them, so I can't understand how they would let something that bad out the door. I will contact them after Christmas and see how the warranty is. If they make me take it out and send it back without sending me one first, my truck would be down for almost a month by the time it gets to SC, they test it and send it (another one) back and I get it running again.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't cheap out on them like I did, now I have to do the job again. At least I have an AE and can figure out which one is bad and do the work myself, but I'm still grumpy I have to do it again.
I'm not trying to slam these guys, they might do great by me when I call them, just saying to not be sucked in by a cheap price. I will update in a few weeks when I find time to get at this thing again.
I was chatting with my parts guy the other day and according to him ford have come out with an injector that has some sort of change to it that is supose to keep it from sideloading or something. According to him this is a pattent and they are the only ones that have it. I really do not know how much truth there is to this but just thought I would tell you what he told me. It made me reconsider buying from an aftermarket supplier. Maybe bismic knows if this is just a myth?
If you want to stay stock you may want to look at Ford remanfactured injectors.
I was watching one of Fords video's on their remanufacturing process and I recall they machined slots in the shuttle valve to prevent stiction which could be a major improvement to these injectors in the long haul.

The last I heard, Bosch or Stadyne quit making new ones a couple of years ago; everything that's out there are re-manufactured cores...that's both Navistar & Ford versions. Now there was a change in 2004 where the coating on the inside of the plunger barrel was made harder. Supposed to hold up longer than the first version/design. If Ford has come out with something "new & improved" I'm sure we'll pay through the nose for it. Though since the 6.0L was still in production until two or three years ago...maybe it's one of those things that isn't talked about much.
I was going to replace #8 later this week with an injector i got from Napa yesterday. It definitley wasn't cheap but they had it on the shelf. Should i return it and got to Ford?

No way for anyone to really answer that. Tim posted up a good link as to the risks. Matty made a pretty darn good offer on OEM's. How badly do you need to be up and operating?
Well I feel like i'm living on borrowed time already, I'm in CT and it's a plow truck so so far so good as far as the weathers concerned. I've been screwing around with it since late summer after putting a bad load of fuel in it. So far I checked the fuel tank, FICM, EGR, and looked all over the place for chaffing, the motor definitley has a skip in it and intermittentley really runs like crap to the point it will stall out like it just looses all of the cylinders. I'm somewhat bewildered because it's very intermittent. I Sent it out to get the codes read and he said it came back with 3 different ones for Cyl 8. Going to shoot to change it either tomorrow night or Thurs.
Thanks for the info Tim, it just came a couple of months too late for this retard. I can't believe I bought the cheap stuff, I'm usually pretty good about paying more for quality - I guess I'm just used to Ford hosing me on parts and thought I wouldn't be getting anything better just because I paid another 1000 bucks.
The first morning it got cold up here (0F) I knew I was in trouble, the truck barely started. Even with the lousy wore out injectors, the truck would always start to -10F without being plugged in, no way it would now. I just fired it up this morning and listened closely, you can hear 2 or 3 injectors missing for a few minutes and it's 35F, and the one won't fire until 150F oil temp.
I got screwed, and it's nobody's fault but mine.
