cruise control help

I purchased a 02 e250 w 80k mi on it. Everything runs great except the cruise doesn't work. I have never messed with cruise control because it has always worked on my vehicles. I made sure the brake switch was not stuck and i cheked all of the fuses. It has a switch on the lower left below the turn signal switch. The light on the dash does not come on and there it does not regualte the speed at all. Are the servo's pretty common to go out, or a relay somewhere. This is my work van and long drives are annoying without cruise.

Not sure what that switch on the column is but factory CC don't have such a thing---just the steering wheel mounted switches. Are you certain this isn't an aftermarket system?

If its not OEM there is a possibility your van could be easily refitted with an OEM system---I did my '00 E250 with a factory kit----its mostly a plug-n-play deal.

Of course there's nothing wrong with aftermarket CC kits either, especially if they work well enough for you. You'd at least have troubling shooting help if the brand is well known and supported by the manufacturer.

Let us know what you discover!

it is a scs/frigette. I have the 3rd handle down in this link.

Handles for SCS/Frigette Cruise Controls

I found a 10amp fuse that was fine. The wiring connections were not corroded or anything. The wiring looked fine. Does anyone have a pinout on the handle so i can ohm it out and check?

SCS/Frigette was also the OEM for Ford's steering wheel mounted control CC----this might be their aftermarket version, perhaps added by an upfitter. Sadly the company which bought SCS/Frigette's assets during a bankruptcy action decided to close that division down and no longer support those products. The replacement parts your link shows might be left over parts still in inventory.

None the less you might contact that vendor to see if they have any published info for you. There must be some identifying numbers on the parts you can see, like the servo for example?
