Cruise control issues

Greetings, list experts. Need your help. Had my Excursion detailed and when I got it back the cruise on_off switch buttons felt funny...kinda squishy. I could get it to engage the green light on the dash but had to fiddle with the on/off switch. I took it back and the mechanic told me they don't make th switches which control cruise, audio, temp and fan on the right side of the wheel. He took it apart and blew it out with air and he reported it worked. I drove the beast down to San Diego and it did indeed work fine. Upon leaving San Diego I tried it again expecting it to work and it didn't at all. Could not get the green flashlight to come on no matter how I tried to press the on off switch. So I found some switches for $39.00 that they say have been bench tested. My question is...is there a separate fuse for the cruise control that may have blown due to a flaky switch? If so where would it be located? When I get the new_replacement old switches are they easy to replace? Also, any diagnostic tests I should run or other parts that may be a problem? I miss my cruise so really need to fix and appreciate your help.

Best Michael
