What kind of internet speed do you have to have to stream movies or watch TV? Does the kindle do everything that an Ipad or Android wi-fi tablet would do?

Here is a video comparing the two.

I have both a Toshiba Thrive Android tablet and a Kindle Fire. I love both but which one is best depends on what you want to do.
A Kindle fire is basically a portal into Amazon and it's an e-reader. Yes, it can run apps, stream video, and get on the internet but the expereince is not going to be anything like that of a tablet. I do love my Fire for reading and purchasing from Amazon but when it comes time to stream video or surf the internet, the tablet blows it away.
A 5mb you should be able to stream but it might break a little. We run 10mb here at the house with no problems at all.

500k is the most we can sign up for. Occasionally it jumps up to around 1 Mbps so things feel really fast. I can't imagine a 10 or even a 5 mbps connection.
But thanks for the tip Scott. I've heard others mention the drawbacks to the kindle too. I was just wondering if we got a tablet, if we could watch any video on it.
