Using AE to diagnose individual modules?
I haven't been able to put my truck into 4 wheel drive and have been chasing down the issue for months now, suspecting the 4x4 shift module. Well today it decided to shift into 4 high by itself while I was driving down the road!!! I am blaming this on a possible 4X4 shift module issue since everything else on the truck checks out.
I put the AE on it and got 3 P codes transfer case something or other. Under that it says "module - manufacturer specific".
Did my AE get those codes from the 4X4 shift module or is there a way to specifically diagnose the module itself?
I wanted to call Clay so bad and pick his brain but didn't want to bother him on Christmas Eve.
You can get into the various modules in the Vehicle menu. You can choose them from there. I do not believe there is a specific one for the 4x4 Module though. You should be able to diagnose to a certain extent from the ABS & enhanced Powertrain Modules.
You should be able to look at this video I did to show basic navigation of AE.

P1876 Transmission Transfer Case 2-Wheel Drive Solenoid Circuit Failure
P1865 Transmission Transfer Case Contact Plate Power Short To Ground
P1820 Transmission Transfer Case Clockwise Shift Relay Coil Circuit Failure
Also a U1242 code, something about a SCP?
My 5th code is the ignition key code that I get because I disconnected the wire for the door chime.
I can run out tomorrow morning again and get the description of the last 2 codes if you think it is important?
Thanks for the help!
