Way too big for me, although I would like to have it for my work (cabinet/furniture maker). I don't have a place big enough to work on it or a way to get it home. Of course he wants too much for it anyway and it is way too far from Houston. Funny how people see trucks going for a lot of money on auctions and think their project is worth a fortune. I do like the "dimond plate" and the "indore/outdore carpet" though, not too sure about the "steal racking".
I didn't read the full description. I didn't see the 19.5" mentioned, I only looked at the pictures. The front looked like multi-part wheels for sure and if they're 18" they probably are. When I first looked at the rear wheels they looked like they had the inner band on them but now that I looked at them again the rear look like they might not have the inner band, just a raised area. The rule for the big tires is if they end in a fraction like 1/2" or .5 they're tubless one piece wheel. If they end in an even number they're multi-part wheels.
Bob your post on people's ideas on value is right on. In addition to all of the auction shows there are also alot of shows on antiques in general such as Antiques Roadshow and American Pickers. Very interesting to watch but they can distort what realistic value might be. Not every antique we find is worth big money. I'm probably at break even or a little behind on buying/selling antique vehicles and parts. I think something is a must have for someone else and find out maybe demand isn't quite what I think it is!
