hey guys I have had the marinco block heater plug mod on my truck since last year and the flap that covers the plug used to stay closed while driving and when sitting still. Now for some reason this winter it will not stay closed at all?? It never happened last winter so I was just curious if anyone who has this mod has had this happen and what did they do to make it stay shut??
Yes, this happened to my Marinco plug soon after installing it. Just take an old injector o-ring and place it on the portion of the cap that closes onto the plug opening. You'll see a groove where the o-ring will fit nicely as you push it all the way down. Works great!

Nice tip..
I'll keep that in mind if my Marinco plug ever needs it.
Do you have the part numbers for the setup you have? Thanks.
i dont have the part numbers but if you ask for the 7.3 zero start block heater cord and chrome cover at an international dealer they should know what youre talking baout since they are zero start dealers......

Well I am glad I waited to do this mod and that you found this set up. That looks so "Sweet" But I am in no hurry because it looks my truck will be sitting the garage all winter in pieces.
I used some black RTV and put it around the edge of the flap. I let it skin up and closed the flap. It opens and closes with no issues for over a year now.
