OK, but does clearing the codes with your scanner also wipe the corrupt KAM values that the computer has been using to operate the engine???? just trying to think through all possibilities that might figure in on your no start, no run condition.
Ok, good, so you can now eliminate corrupt KAM info confusing the computer on what it needs to do about fuel trim. Keep whittling away at the drill down possibilities & you'll likely come by the answer soon.
I'm still concerned about All of the injectors in one cyl bank squirting all at once. If this puppy has sequential port fuel injection, seems to me that each fuel injector should be squirting in sequence only when it's cyl is on it's intake cycle!!!!???? Otherwise seems to me you'd have an over fueling condition, which from your posts you seem to have????
If you come to find that you do indeed have an over fueling condition, you'll need to find out if the engine has been changed, if fuel delivery system has been messed with, like the wrong injectors, fuel pump, computer, MAF/MAP, O2, or other sensors been used or messed with/modified????
While getting to the pcm today I found a reciept for a new fuel filter. Owner kept stating that it ran perfect up until it "just died", but this made me believe differently. Dropped the pipes off of the manifolds and it fired right up, and ran great! I assuming the bad ect and iat sensors probably overfuelled for a while and destroyed the converter. New convertor tomorrow and she is back on the road! Thanks a lot guys!!!
OK, good find & feedback. So the owner said it had been running fine, this puppy passed it's compression test, hadn't been backfiring through the intake, or given any other signs of a clogged cat like being wimpy on power????
Did you do a clogged cat test with a vacuum gauge, before disconnecting the exhaust manafold????
Sometimes with a clogged cat they'll start if we remove the O2 sensors, as that'll relieve back pressure some & is another quick easy check, like the Vacuum gauge clogged cat test.
I never got to work on it until it wouldn't run. So I never knew if it was sluggish or not. I was just going off of what I was told. (big mistake I guess) I did do a vacume test, but I never could get it to run long enough to feel comfortable with not having very much vacume. I guess what really threw me for a loop is the fact that it had 120-125 psi of compression on 5 cylinders and 100 on the other one.
