My 1989 (AT, 351) Bronco and I were at a stoplight in Neutral, forgetting that I was, I stepped on the gas, went nowhere of course, then (bonehead time) I too quickly shifted to Drive while the RPMs were still winding down from previous, but with a not too hard shift, away I went.
There was instantly rough acceleration.
My Bronc was just fine up until that screwed-up shifting moment. The roughness is worse when the vehicle is cold but calms down a bit as things warm up. No backfiring, good idle. Just a steady stumbling/stutter while accelerating (it has occasional self attempts at smoothing out). Shifts normal as always. No roughness when I achieve a steady speed and RPM.
