cam sensor??
To the OP, don't mind us, we here at FTE put the "fun" (and occasionally just the "F-U") in dysfunctional.
In regard to your issue, there are a couple pretty simple things you can try. Number one, these guys have already stated, which is to pull the four connectors off the top side of the valve covers and see if the connectors look at all like they may have gotten hot or have any burnt pins. It is, unfortunately, a pretty common issue on these trucks. It is also pretty common for the inside portion of that wiring harness to have the same issue. Stay with me here, I'm serious, open the oil filler cap (engine off, lol) and take a whiff of what it smells like inside the valve cover. Smells like burned electronics, you have an issue in there. Smells like a diesel engine, there is a better chance you may be ok, but still may have an issue in there. The telltale way to test this is with a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) butif you don't have one, or you're not comfortable operating one, this might be difficult for you.
Welcome to the site, and don't let us run you off with our occasional shenanigans. Oh, and by the way, CD's!? Hello? We are all still driving 15 year old trucks, I think we're cool with CDs. My truck still has a cassette deck...

Agree with that and another WELCOME on board.
