i have a 95 powrestroke with 223,000 miles. driving down the road truck will lose power. not die the engine is still running. if i let off the pedal it will come back to life. the check engine light flashes on and off real quick. ford says no codes showing up on computer. could it be the cam sensor?

Fuel supply problem here. The Cam sensor will just cut out like you turned the key off and roll to a stop. Lifting your foot restoring it sounds like a loss of fuel pressure under high demand. The first thing to check is for a clogged fuel filter and the second thing to check is if your fuel pump itself is failing. Other possibilities are clogged fuel pickup in the tank. (not very likely)
I don't think your throttle position sensor is going bad, that makes your engine do the herky jerky from what I have read here on the board.
And possibly a failing HPOP not delivering enough high pressure oil to drive the injectors at high demand. However I think that also would be accompanied by a very hard to start when engine warmed up and the oil is thinned out.
I don't know about the check engine light flashing, but the cam sensor can be going out without setting a code. I read somewhere that the cam sensor can be going bad for a while without fully failing. It said that fuel mileage and overall drivability can improve when changing a faulty cam sensor.
Same thing happened to me last year w/1997 at 98,000. Happened about three times when it was cold (below 35) and not warmed up real well. Loss of power and lots of blue smoke. Hasn't happened again since, but haven't changed the cps yet. I'd be interested in knowing what fixes your problem!
Yes a cps can be hit and miss. I've never seen one have a problem that didn't set a code. Usually when they act up the first time it's not long before they quit for good. As far as fuel mileage, I guess it would increase if you push it. They truck will not run if it's not getting that signal.
I have seen were a TPS can have a dead spot and not set a code. It works like a dash lamp dimmer. When it hits the bad spot its like dimming the light or letting off the fuel. Thats all the computer sees, it has no secondary sys. to trigger a CEL.

Cold, loss of power, engine not to operating tempurature, with a diesel it's 99.99% glow plug failure.
Thanks kwikkordead...Haven't noticed a problem since last year...Will have to see what happens when the weather here in Yakima gets a little cooler. I'll have to get a test rig hooked up for the GP's As for the weather "Better cold than mildewed"...JK!
