What is this

What is this thing? I was working under the EX and the one on the other side broke off. They were/are attached to the bottom half leaf. Is this bottom leaf even needed. I am assuming (u know what happens when you do that) it is for helping with heavy tow loads. I never tow more than 2,500 pounds just a 15 foot flat trailer and 2 atv's.

I had mine replaced a few months back, it's your helper spring bumper.
OEM part if I recall is less than $30. Each.

I think this was fords way of trying to help with wandering.

I drove without them for 2 years. But in my opinion if your not going to replace the broken/ missing one, remove the good one, so everything works evenly.

even if the pic doesnt work, being you said its on the bottom leaf and the other one broke off, I'd say its the snubber. needed, hmmm, if ford put it there, well... they are cheap if you need another one. mine have been off for years.
