I had finished driving the truck on Saturday successfully with no issues or indications that there was anything wrong. Did not drive it on Sunday, and went to start it this morning and it will not start.
What it is doing...
I am in Florida so it is only 54 degrees by the Truck-o-meter.
All lights in the dash indicate everything is normal.
The fuel pump sounds as if it is running as normal.
Starts to fire, then doesn't.
Turn off, repeat.
Without knowing what codes the truck is throwing...it could be a couple of things. I'd check the batteries and make sure they're good to go. Then I'd work through this troubleshooting check list:
Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic and sadly since I know of noone in Jacksonville to help me out with this that I will be at the mercy of Mike Shad Ford. I guess that if there is something simple that I can do that I can try before hand or at least have any idea what it should be before I take it in that is what I am waiting for.
I would definitely follow the link zhilton posted for you above. Several thing in there that don't require any tools. Also, when the dealership calls you back and explains the problem it may help if it's somthing you just read about.

I don't know if you've got to have the truck today or if it can sit a couple days while you work on it in your spare time. But if it was me, here's what I do....work through that troubleshooting checklist as best as you can. If you get confused...come back here and post a question asking "how do you do this test?". Or I would look in the FL chapter here on FTE (Florida Chapter - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums) and see if there is someone near me that might have an AE or experience spinning wrenches on these motors. That's how I found the guy near me that has helped out in the past. Personally, the dealership would be my last resort, but if you need the truck quick...and not very mechincally inclined, the dealership maybe your best option. I'd still want to be prepared for their diagnoses of the problem. They may or may not try to snowball you into something you don't need.
zhilton, Yes I am already a member of the Florida Chapter and haven't really found anyone that in Jacksonville that can help. Without a major tow fee, I am stuck. And unfortunately my wonderful apartment complex does not allow any type of do-it-yourself stuff in their parking lots. I looked through the list and most sounds like as if nothing is happening for the no start. Whereas mine does turn over and starts to fire but that is all.

Well crap, that doesn't help much. You'd think there would be several folks from the greater Jacksonville area in the chapter...it is a good sized city for crying out loud.

Yeah, that does put you between a rock & a hard place.

When you say starts to fire...does it hit on a couple of cylinders? Starts to run, but then dies right after you let off the key? Without pulling the codes the truck is throwing...they're there even if the CEL light isn't on...it's hard to point you to the problem. I don't know if you could get away with checking the codes at your apartment complex. It would look like your sitting in the truck listening to the stereo...not like you'd have parts laying every where. I don't want to get you in trouble with your landlord...just suggesting.

But you have to have a special piece of equipment for that correct? Or at bare minimum a ScanGauge? Isn't that correct?
raptor131, Thank you for the gesture that would really be amazing. I would buy the ScanGauge II and install that to help but can't find it in any of the standard autoparts store here. I might have a mechanic from the Ford dealer that would come by after hours. I was trying to get him here today but he said he can't make it until tomorrow at noonish. I may have to leave work early to meet with him.
-He has a 2005 motor
-Unplugged the ICP and it sounded better cranking and even fired, but still no joy
-Unplugged the EBPS, nothing
-Unplugged EGR, nothing
-He didn't have a voltmeter so he couldn't test the FICM
Sorry I stopped posting this morning...had to get to work. Like Benny posted, AutoZone should have a ScanGauge II in the store that will read codes. Beyond that, I'm not 100% sure what all it will do; I use an AE for all my troubleshooting.

As much time as I've spent on this forum...you'd think I would have suggested that pretty quick. Guess I need to deduct 1000 posts off my FTE profile for missing something that simple. Though since he's having a cold start issue...I don't think it's the STC; unless it was a complete failure. But that's very rare without some kind of warm/hot starting issues first.
