Ford Gold Remote Start Problem
I'm in the process of installing the Ford Gold remote start on my '08 F250, and I've got everything wired up where it should be. The instructions weren't clear on the locations of the cargo high mount stop lamp wire and the passenger unlock circuit wire, but I think I got those wired up right (colors match and locations seem to correlate). All the other wires I'm quite confident about, and I've double-checked. The problem comes when I turn the key to Run, the horn starts honking erratically and won't stop even if I pull the key. I have to cut power to the remote start module to get it to shut off. Anyone have any idea what's causing this? I'm going to have to wait til Monday for Tech Support to open up otherwise, and they weren't too helpful last time I tried.

I pulled the plug on the horn so it wouldn't **** off my neighbors. Listening to the relay clicks, it stops after about 10 seconds. Now, my problem is that it seems to be in a loop when programming. When I try to remote start it, it indicates the Tach isn't programmed. Gotta call Ford tomorrow, but at least the unit has power so I can start it.

Gonna keep updating this thread in hopes it helps some other hapless soul:
APPARENTLY, when Ford says "Blue" CHMSL wire in the instructions, they actually mean "Violet" wire.
Now that I can get it to enter the programming mode, I can see that the LED to program the unit won't light

I am glad you are not getting discouraged and mad that no one is helping you out like some people would. If I knew anything about alarm systems, I would try to help but I do not. Keep the info coming though, hopefully you will get it working.
