I have a 1990 ford p/u with a fuel injected 302. It will start and idle until it warms up, but you can't step on the gas or it will die until warm. Any ideas? Thanks
There are two coolant temp sensors on Ford FI engines. One sends a reading to your temp guage or light as the case may be but the other tell the ECC the engines temp and then the ECC will adjust it's settings as required. My guess is that that sensor is bad. It's not expensive and it's not hard to replace.
Back again. No codes stored in koeo or koer. Went out and started it ran fine as long didn't hit gas. Died when I gave it gas. Held gas at half throttle until it cleared up and then ran perfect. Engine wasn't warm even. Any ideas?
Back again. Went out and started truck and died when I agve it gas. Got it started again and held steady throttle about half until it cleaned itself out and then it ran fine. What is going on? Could a injector be leaking by? Had all new injectors about a year ago. Bad plugs? Will put in new plugs when I can. Any ideas?
