New Transmission

I need a new transmission for my 1970 F-250 Camper Special, or maybe a rebuild kit. I was hoping someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction on my quest to get my truck back up to hauling performance. The current transmission is a 4 speed granny tranny, and it worked just fine before certain people tried to work on it, and would like to replace it with the same transmission or possibly rebuild it.

What's wrong with it? Did someone tear into the transmission and screw it up?

They replaced the linkage with bailing wire, so now it grinds rather loudly, would you know what specifics I could use to find a replacement, part number and such? I'm in Afghan so can't crawl under it to look lol.

Two transmissions are used: Borg-Warner T-18, or New Process 435. To identify which one it is, where is the reverse located from neutral, up or down?

Down to right would be a NP435. Top cover will be aluminum so magnet will not stick to it. There is no external linkage. If shifter was pulled while in gear, shift yokes are not aligned right. Don't spend money till checked out, these things are tough.
