voltage confirmed at fuel pump connector when relay socket jumped between appropriate points.
got my hands on a bosch pump and strainer sock, check!
filler and evap hoses are all powdery and disintegrating on the outside, now to find those! neither autozone nor NAPA have them, calling the dealer tomorrow, this should be interesting
there was also a "riding condition" between the tank and the frame, there's a couple shiny spots on the tank where it was rubbing. i have some closed cell foam to pad it with when the tank goes back up into place.
In place of that foam try instead some fairly thin rubber sheeting, the type heavy truck radiator shops use for core-to-tank gasketing material. Maybe 3/32" of an inch as you shouldn't need more than that.
Make sure your straps are in good condition, that the threaded stems aren't rusted or in danger of breaking. They're about $35 each from the dealer which I didn't think was a bad price at all---IF they need replacing that is.
Why the Bosch instead of the Airtex brand----just out of curiosity?
