Iv heard a lot about making the ebpv a exhaust brake. Is it possible. And how do you think or know how to do it? The guy told me all I need was 2 6ft pieces of 12 gauge wire, and a switch for inside the cab
It is very simple and very effective! I did it and am glad i did. With my 5 speed it seems to work very well and i havent noticed any ill affects from it or heard of any for that matter.
well all ya have to do is locate the wiring plug that is located on drivers side valve cover that goes towards turbo inlet. Cut the wires on the engine engine side of harness and figure out which wire powers the EBPV. Once you have established that by using a test light and having someone cycle the key on and off hook that one to your switch with keyed power and ground the other wire. I ran two wires to my shifter and taped a little toggle switch to it. I can get some pics if you really want, its not to difficult if you have know how.
Getting ready to do this, but I have a question. I would like to install a switch that would illuminate when the brake was engaged. Can someone point me toward a switch that is simple but would illuminate when you engage the brake? I see a lot of switches on ebay but don't exactly know how many poles you need or how to wire them so the light will come on when engaged.
