My truck threw out a P0006B, MAP Exhaust Pressure Correlation code 3 times yesterday.
What does this mean in laymen terms?
I only found one other thread referencing this code and there was some speculation about air temperatures. We've been in the teens (F) for the last several days, so I don't know if this is related.
Maybe this is a common code, but now that I have a DashDaq monitoring everything, I'm always looking.
Here is the code and definion:
P006B X KO MAP/EBP Correlation
This error is set when the difference between Maniforld
Absolute Pressure (MAP) and Exhaust Pressure (EP) is greater
than the threshold for a predetermined period of time.
Engine off time > 5.0s.
300 hPa > 5.0 sec
Wiring, EP tube plugged, EP
Sensor, MAP sensor, PCM
I've only gotten this code twice yesterday and not at all today. Also, I noted I got a P1000 code which I assume occurred at the same time (????).
This may be nothing, but this all occurred after I installed my cold front cover which has been off since the end of last winter.
So, where is the EP tube / what does it do? If I only get the code infrequently does this rule out the tube plugging and/or is there enough flow to clear it with out any intervention?
