I am about to put in jody's chip and i pulled the P 0470 code which jody said is the exaust back pressure code. have you guys pulled this before? jody said that it could cause me to lose some power - shouldnt i just get the ebp delete thing and are those pricey - your thoughts ??
thanks
I used to get those codes all the time. I found my tube to the sensor rusted in half. I replaced the tube and sensor and th code was gone. I did not see any difference in the way the truck ran. Folks on here have said that you can just unhook the plug to the BPS and the truck will go into a default and run fine. The only thing you are taking out of function is the exhaust backpressure valve which is only usefull when it is really cold.
Right above the water pump. It has a two wire plug in from the top and a 5/16 steel tube coming in from the bottom. It is right in front of the HPOP tank if you know where that is. Look for the steel line on the bottom, that way you know for sure you have the right sensor.
Yep, unplug it. You will get a code for the EBPV. Not an issue. The computer is not getting reference from it, so it thinks something is wrong. It will not defuel because of this.

It will not defuel? What does that do to the general performance? Good or bad? I am not happy with the number of cranks it takes to start my truck and am thinking it is because the HPOP does not deliver the necessary fuel quickly enough.
