How long should the block heater be plugged in for?

Usually about 2-3 hours is plenty- Try 2 & see how it starts

3 hours should be plenty. You won't hurt anything by leaving it plugged in all night.

all it will hurt is the power bill. i just put mine on a cheap timer and let it cut on 2 hours before i leave.

Leave that sucker plugged in all night and not only will ur heater element burn out in a fue years ..ull have a wopper of an electric bill, that suckers bout 1000watt. Dont use unless less then 21F, Plug in 45 min if its 11-20F, plug 60m if its 10-0F. Never more then 90 min if colder
