I don't know about amps, but I know my electric bill went up 70 dollars in one month. The only thing I did different was plug in the block heater every day.
The stock block heater is 1000 watts (it is printed on the side of it) so using the formula and a power factor of 1 for a resistive load the amp rating would be 8.33 amps.
